TALLAHASSEE, Fla — On Tuesday, September 1, 2020, local cupcake shop, Lucy & Leo’s, announced the closure of their business, effective September 26, 2020. Located at 1123 Thomasville Rd, the Midtown cupcakery credited a “personal decision” to hang up their aprons.
Lucy & Leo’s has been locally-owned and operated for the last 12 years. Specializing in “fresh, delicious, and interesting” cupcakes, Tallahassee’s first cupcakery underwent a closure plan in September of 2017, but remained opened. Now, they are saying their final goodbye. “From first dates, to proposals, to weddings, to new babies, to dropping your freshman off and seeing them all the way through to graduation, a million heartfelt thanks for the friends, new families and celebrations that we have been honored to be a part of over the last 12 years,” the shop said on Facebook.
Throughout the month of September, Lucy & Leo’s plans to host a number of fun events and in-shop “goodbyes” before they close.”We will miss our spot in this amazing local community and beyond, and hope to see all of you for a final farewell.”
