On October 11, 2019, Cracker Barrel bought out Maple Street Biscuit Company, and with its new ownership has come, unsurprisingly, several changes. The most recent change to the local breakfast and brunch favorite involves the alteration of restaurant days and hours. The previously Jacksonville, Florida-based “community store” originally operated 6 days a week, giving their employees a day off on Sunday.

However, Maple Street announced on Friday, February 7, 2020, that all locations are now operating 7 days a week, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Both Tallahassee locations—the Killearn and the Florida State University restaurants—will operate according to these updated days and hours. After much demand to open up on Sundays, on January 19, 2020, Maple Street-FSU commented, “We’re excited to be serving you all for this extra day, especially after such popular demand for it!” The remainder of restaurants followed in their footsteps soon after. “We love serving the community so much, we just had to add another day!” Maple Street-Killearn said on February 7, 2020.

Maple Street operates according to the following principles: Comfort food with a modern twist, gracious service, immaculately clean stores, and sustainable business. Now, fans get to enjoy southern comfort food any day they would like. Maple Street-Killearn assured, “Whether you choose to eat brunch with friends, family, or just want to grab a biscuit and coffee on-the-go, we’re here for you every Sunday!”
