To Thrift or Not to Thrift: Best Thrift Shops in Tallahassee

As of late, shopping at thrift stores, an act known as “thrifting,” has become all the rage. In Tallahassee, there are a host of unique thrift stores to shop at, most of which are locally-owned and have a mission behind them. Check them out below!

City Walk Urban Mission — A thrift store with a mission, City Walk Urban Mission, located downtown, works to feed, clothe, and house those in need through the purchases at their store. With special discount days all throughout the week, this thrift store has everything from a huge vinyl record collection to clothing that is fit for any fashion lover.

The Other Side Vintage — The Other Side Vintage, found in Railroad Square, is your destination for eccentric clothing, shoes, accessories, trinkets, records, and more. The warehouse also sells vintage furniture and comic books and hosts special discount events periodically. Check them out on Facebook here.

The Fix Thrift Shop — This thrift store helps to end the overpopulation of pets in Tallahassee. Yes, you read that correctly! The Fix Thrift Shop offers gently used clothing, books, shoes, and more for purchase with 100% of profits going toward spaying/neutering surgeries for animals in the Tallahassee area.

Savvy Salvage Vintage Thrift — With great prices and a variety of unique and vintage items, Savvy Salvage Vintage Thrift in Railroad Square is a locally-owned vintage thrift store. From guitars to toys for the kids, something at this thrift store is sure to catch your eye.

Goodwill on Capital Circle – This nationwide chain has a location on Capital Circle that is a must-visit! Goodwill on Capital Circle has a 2-part store: one for electronics and technology, and one warehouse full of trendy clothing, shoes, and accessories for purchase.

The Living Harvest — With 2 locations here in town, The Living Harvest is a faith-based thrift store. With tons of items ranging from furniture to accessories and clothing, every purchase made at this store helps to rebuild the lives of those in need.

  2. Please consider visiting and adding “The Frontier Trading Company” and “Re-Tail” to this list! They’re a group of 4 thrift and vintage stores at 3686 Woodville Highway, Tallahassee FL 32305. (Just a bit past the fairgrounds, look for the A-frame building). They’re friendly, very affordable and always have something new! They’re got everything from furniture to crafts, decor, toys, books, etc. Re-Tail donates it’s proceeds to saving animals! They don’t get as much people put there as they should, it is a little out of the way, but so worth it!
